Salmon, Trevally and Bonito

I am from Sydney Australia, the city of the 2000 Olympics. My favorite hobby is fishing. Sydney has a warm climate year around. This gives me the opportunity to fish any time of the year. I usually fish Sydney Harbour and sometimes the surrounding waterways. We are into autumn now and cold water species such as Australian Salmon, Trevally, Tailor and John Dory will be amongst the fish caught. Visit me often, I'll try to change pictures weekly.

Bream and Flathead
This is my daughter Suzanne. She is 7 years old. She started fishing with me when she was 3 years old. Here she is holding a bream and flathead (you can figure out which is which), caught in the Parramatta river on prawns (shrimp). These are the most popular fish in Sydney waterways and are good eating.

An Eastern Fiddler Ray
This Ray was caught in 4 foot of water in Rosebay. It was released and came back again the next week, when I caught it again, twice in 10 minutes.

I like to fish light whenever possible. For bream and flathead I use 6 to 8 pound line. For the flathead I use a trace of at least 15 pounds. For bonito and Australian salmon I use a 15 pound line. The salmon on top of the page was caught on 8.5 pound line on a lure. GO TO MY NEXT PAGE WHERE REAL SHOW BEGINS.
